We provide vaccination services for individual patients at our outpatient clinic, as well as on-site vaccinations for companies.

Influenza is an infectious disease caused by the influenza virus.

In addition to symptoms similar to the common cold such as sore throat and runny nose, it is characterized by the sudden onset of systemic symptoms including a high fever over 38°C, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain. Children, the elderly, and those with underlying medical conditions are at higher risk of developing severe illness, which can lead to complications such as pneumonia and encephalopathy.

There are three types of influenza viruses: A, B, and C, but most human outbreaks are caused by types A and B. The virus mainly spreads through droplet transmission, which occurs when people inhale airborne particles released by coughs or sneezes.

Vaccination Against Influenza

Vaccination is an effective way to prevent influenza. Currently, there are two types of vaccines available:

  1. Subcutaneous Injection (Inactivated Vaccine)
This is the most commonly used type. The virus is inactivated to prevent replication in the body, making it highly safe.
  2. Nasal Spray (Live Attenuated Vaccine)
Introduced in 2024, this new vaccine is administered by spraying directly into the nose. It uses a weakened form of the live virus, which can replicate in the body and generate immunity similar to natural infection.

Both vaccines are expected to be effective in preventing severe influenza symptoms. However, the nasal spray vaccine has age and health condition restrictions. Please consider your own and your family’s situation when choosing the appropriate vaccine.

  • Optional vaccination; public subsidies may be available depending on the municipality.
  • 0.5 ml subcutaneous injection per dose (0.25 ml per dose for children under 2 years old).
  • Children aged 6 months to under 13 years receive two doses. The first dose is usually administered between October and December, with the second dose given 2–4 weeks later.
  • For individuals aged 13 and above, a single dose is the standard.
  • Antibodies typically last for about 5 months.
  • Vaccination is possible during pregnancy and is also recommended for individuals with underlying conditions such as asthma, kidney disease, or diabetes.

Get vaccinated before the flu season starts. It takes about two weeks for the vaccine to become effective.

Vaccination is available from 6 months of age.

As the vaccine is produced using eggshell-based materials, please consult us if you or your child has an egg allergy.

If your child is regularly consuming eggs (even just egg yolk) as part of their weaning diet, vaccination is generally safe.

We recommend two doses for children up to 12 years old, and one dose for those 13 years and older.

As our clinic is designated for public subsidy by Chiyoda Ward, vaccinations are free of charge for residents up to high school age.

Four weeks is recommended.

Vaccination is allowed if at least two weeks have passed.

Receiving the vaccine is more effective than not receiving it.

It is not a problem to receive the vaccination. If the peak of the outbreak has passed, a single dose may be sufficient.

There is no problem with getting vaccinated. If the peak of the flu season has passed, a single dose should be sufficient.

Vaccination is possible. It is said to have no effect on the fetus or breastfeeding.

It is said to last for about 5 months.

Light exercise before the vaccination is allowed. However, please refrain from strenuous activity after the vaccination.

It is generally considered safe if consumed in small amounts.

All influenza vaccines are considered safe during pregnancy, but we also have a thimerosal-free (mercury-free) vaccine, Flubik®, available in stock.

There is no required interval between the COVID-19 vaccine and the influenza vaccine. They can also be administered on the same day.

[On-Site Vaccination]
Our vaccination team will visit your company and provide group vaccinations using a space such as a meeting room.

As a general guide, we can vaccinate around 50 people in approximately 30 minutes.
Although we implement thorough infection control measures, we are happy to adjust the schedule depending on the size of the room or other concerns.

On the day of vaccination, for infection control purposes, we recommend scheduling 8 people per 5-minute slot and ask that you prepare a list of recipients in advance.
We offer on-site vaccination for companies primarily located near our clinic, with a minimum of 50 participants required.

[In-Clinic Vaccination Plan]
We will set a one-to-two-week period for your company during which employees can visit our clinic at their own convenience for vaccination.

(Clinic hours: Open every day including weekdays, weekends, and holidays from 9:00 AM to final check-in at 8:30 PM.)

Please send us the list of vaccine recipients in advance so we can secure enough stock. There is no minimum number of participants required—we accept even small groups.

[On-site Visit Fees]
The base price is 3,900 yen (excluding tax) per person. For companies that meet the following conditions, there will be no additional charges for travel, transportation, or handling fees:

In principle, we provide on-site vaccinations only for companies located within Tokyo’s 23 wards or Chiba Prefecture, with a minimum of 50 participants.

For companies in other areas or with fewer participants, please contact us for consultation.

We kindly ask you to secure a vaccination space such as a meeting room or hall. A room that can accommodate around 10 people is sufficient, but a larger space allows for smoother vaccination procedures.

An invoice will be sent at a later date, and we kindly ask for payment via bank transfer by the end of the following month. Please note that we do not accept cash payments on the day of on-site vaccination.
