With the resumption of product shipments by the manufacturer, Pfizer Inc., our clinic has resumed prescribing the smoking cessation medication Champix® (generic name: varenicline).
Champix is an oral medication that reduces nicotine cravings and withdrawal symptoms and has been shown to improve smoking cessation outcomes. It is not available for purchase at pharmacies and must be prescribed following a medical consultation.
Eligibility: Adults aged 20 years or older who wish to quit smoking
Treatment period: Standard 12-week program with a total of five clinic visits (initial visit, and at weeks 2, 4, 8, and 12)
Cost: Covered by national health insurance (eligibility requirements apply)
